Withdrawal and Leave of Absence Policy for the College
To leave Springfield College, a student must meet with a member of the Registrar's Office to file leave of absence or withdrawal paperwork. Once completed, a student must meet with a member of the Dean of Students Office to set up an exit interview and begin the process of disengaging from the College. The purpose of the interview is for the student to have an opportunity to review options and bring closure to the experience at the College. At that time, an effective withdrawal date will be determined. This date will be used in processing any possible refunds. Students who are leaving the College must return all materials, including library books, athletic equipment, and the room key in which they were issued. Leave of absences and withdrawals will not be processed unless the student has completed the following appropriate steps.
- A student who takes a leave of absence is allowed to re-engage with the College within two semesters without going through an application process.
- A student who takes a withdrawal must reapply to return to Springfield College as a matriculated student.
For more information on the leave of absence and withdrawal process, contact the Registrar's Office at (413) 748-3401 or the Dean of Students Office at (413) 748-3100.
