David Hall, Ed.D.Director
Dave completed a bachelor's degree in psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va., and a graduate assistantship at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Fla. He spent five years as assistant director of recreation at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, before moving to Stockton, Calif., to become director of campus recreation at the University of the Pacific in June 2000, where he also received his Ed.D., in educational administration and leadership. He began at Springfield College as its first director of campus recreation in 2005.
Assistant Director (Facilities and Aquatics)
Pete received his bachelor of science degree in business management from Springfield College. He is entering his 26th season as the head men's and women's diving coach at the College. Pete coordinates all pool operations as well as scheduling for all athletic facilities on campus. He currently maintains the national certified pool operator status.
Coordinator of Facility Operations and Student Development
Kristen received a bachelor of science degree in exercise and sport psychology (health science/psychology) from Keene State in New Hampshire. She recently received her M.Ed. in athletic counseling and is currently finishing her certificate of advanced graduate study in clinical mental health counseling. Prior to becoming a full-time member of the staff at Springfield College, Kristen served as the graduate associate (facilities/fitness, marketing) for Campus Recreation.
Nicole grew up in the Pioneer Valley and only left to attend Bridgewater State University where she received a degree in Sociology. She then went on to work for social service nonprofits in the Springfield area for two years before she decided to make a career change. She received a M.Ed. in exercise science and sport studies with a concentration in health promotion and disease prevention from Springfield College. While attending graduate school, Nicole was a graduate associate for the counseling center and at the same time worked as a personal trainer for a local gym.
Assistant Director (Fitness and Wellness)
Kate attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she received a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology. She earned an M.Ed. in exercise science and sport studies with a concentration in health promotion and disease prevention at the College. During her second year of graduate school, she was the graduate associate for fitness and wellness for Campus Recreation. After graduating, she became the health educator and is now serving as the assistant director of Campus Recreation for fitness and wellness.
Tom St. John
Coordinator of Intramural and Club Sports
Tom joined the Campus Recreation staff in the fall of 2009, after earning his M.Ed. in counseling education from the University of Maine. At UMaine, Tom was the graduate assistant for intramural and club sports. Tom also oversaw its recreation activity day camp. Prior to entering graduate school, Tom worked as assistant director of recreation sports at the Bangor YMCA. Tom also received a B.S. in business administration focusing on management from the University of Maine.
Maureen was born and raised in Springfield, Mass. Maureen previously worked at Monarch Life Insurance Company and Bay Path College as an administrative assistant for the college's facilities and purchasing departments. She has been employed by Springfield College since August 2004. She worked in the residence life office until 2007 as an administrative secretary and now works for Campus Recreation as an administrative assistant.
Fitness and Wellness/Health Education Graduate Associate
Deb graduated from Boston University with a degree in psychology, and went on to receive a master's in exercise and sport psychology at Southern Connecticut State University. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in exercise physiology at the College. Before attending Springfield College, Deb was working at a corporate fitness center in group fitness, personal training, and health promotion.
Graduate Associate for Facility Operations and Special Events
Kathryn is a first-year graduate student from West Hartford, Conn. She graduated from Springfield College in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in health science. Currently, she is working to pursue a master of science degree in health promotion and disease prevention at Springfield College. Kathryn has worked as a wellness supervisor for Campus Recreation for the past three years and completed a fitness and wellness internship. Kathryn continues to teach group exercise classes while pursuing a master’s degree.
Graduate Associate for Facility and Climbing Wall Operations
Maggie graduated from Springfield College with a bachelor’s degree in applied exercise science. She is currently enrolled in her first year in the clinical exercise physiology master’s program. Maggie is a certified LiveStrong trainer for the YMCA.
Graduate Associate for Aquatics and Special Events
Jeff is from Syracuse, N.Y., and received an undergraduate degree at Ithaca College in exercise science with a coaching minor. He was a varsity swimmer for all four years at Ithaca. He is currently a first-year graduate student studying strength and conditioning.
