Summer Group Exercise Schedule
Session 1: May 20-June 13, 2013
- There will be no classes on Monday, May 27.
- All classes are held in the Wellness & Recreation Complex.
- Classes are open to all valid users of the Wellness & Recreation Complex.
- Cycle classes are in room 202. All other classes are in room 214.
- Registration is not required.
- Session 2 will begin on Monday, June 17 (schedule TBA)
|Cycle ‘n’ Core|
Group Exercise Class Descriptions
|Ab Lab||This class focuses on strengthening the muscles of the core through some innovative & fun exercises. Make sure to come early, as this class fills up fast!|
|BODYPUMP™||BODYPUMP™, the original LES MILLS™ barbell class, will sculpt, tone & strengthen your entire body, fast! Focusing on low weight loads & high repetition movements, you'll burn fat, gain strength & quickly produce lean body muscle conditioning. The cutting-edge BODYPUMP™ choreography, & chart-topping music is refreshed every three months, so with your choice of weight & highly trained instructors you can get the results you've been looking for! Please arrive early to set up your barbell and bench.|
|Boot Camp||Using circuit training--including body weight, strength, & cardiovascular training exercises--the instructor will kick your booty through a full body workout.|
|Cardio Kickboxing||This class will knock you out! Get ready to punch & kick your way to an awesome cardiovascular workout using boxing, kickboxing & martial arts techniques.|
|Cyclates||Come experience cycle & Pilates! “Cyclates” will incorporate 30 minutes of traditional cycle & 15 minutes of Pilates core & flexibility exercises.|
|Cycle||This cardiovascular class will get your heart pumping while cycling on indoor stationary bikes using drills, imagery &/or themes. Cycling is a great workout that people of all fitness levels can enjoy.|
|Cycle ‘n’ Core||30 minutes of cycling & 15 minutes of core training are packed into this fun & challenging class. You can look forward to great music & an energetic instructor.|
|Guilt-Free Weekend Workout||Come burn lots of energy before your weekend begins! The “guilt-free weekend workout” consists of cardiovascular training, muscular endurance training, challenging core exercises, & plyometrics. If you’re looking to have a good & healthy start to the weekend, come on in & leave your guilt at the door.|
|Guts, Butts, & Thighs||Just like the name states, this class will focus on the abdominals, glutes, & legs. The instructor will lead you through abdominal/core exercises, squats, lunges, & a variety of lower body moves.|
|Instructor’s Choice||The instructor chooses the format of each class to help you increase your aerobic endurance &/or muscular strength. Class formats may include step, hi/low impact aerobics, kickboxing, circuit training, dance, etc.|
|Pilates||Created by Joseph Pilates, this class will focus on creating stronger muscles, with a focus on your core. Breathing & relaxation are combined with exercises to help you “center” your mind & body.|
|Step||Blast calories on the step with fun music and classic step aerobics choreography. The instructor may also incorporate strength training and core exercises into the class.|
|Tabata Training||Join us for a great H.I.I.T. (high-intensity interval training) workout that will blast calories during & after your workout. Modifications are given for all fitness levels.|
|Water Aerobics||Dive into a water aerobics class to burn calories, increase cardiovascular endurance, & strengthen the core without impact on the joints.|
|Yoga||Connect with your body, mind, & spirit while improving your strength & flexibility. All levels welcome. Each instructor has a unique teaching style & approach to yoga.|
|Yogalates||“Yogalates” is a combination of yoga & Pilates. The instructor will challenge you with Pilates exercises & yoga postures, while incorporating flexibility & relaxation to calm the spirit, mind, & body.|
|Zumba®||Dance to Latin rhythms while you get a workout! You will do the Salsa, Merenge, Cha-Cha, Belly-dancing & a little bit of Hip Hop! Zumba is fun, easy, & a little spicy!|
|Zumba® Toning||Zumba® Toning combines targeted body-sculpting exercises & high-energy cardio work with Latin-infused Zumba® moves to create a calorie-torching, strength-training dance fitness-party. Students learn how to use light weights while dancing to tone all their target zones, including arms, abs & thighs. Zumba® Toning is the perfect way for enthusiasts to sculpt their bodies while having a total blast.|
