College Resumes Normal Operations After Sandy

Springfield College continues to monitor Sandy and its effects on our area. As of 11 p.m. Monday, College officials anticipate normal operations on Tuesday, October 30. The safety of the campus community is the top priority. Therefore, a final assessment and announcement concerning classes and college offices for Tuesday will be made in the morning by 6 a.m.

As the effects of Hurricane Sandy continue to impact the region this evening, please continue to use caution and be safe. While evening classes are canceled for tonight (10/29), classes are scheduled to resume tomorrow morning (Tuesday, October 30) as of this posting. However, any new information will be posted on the College website, the weather info line (413-748-5999), and sent through SC Alert.

As Hurricane Sandy intensifies this afternoon, Cheney dining hall, Campus Union, PE Complex/Wellness Center, and Babson Library will close at 6 pm. All evening classes on Monday (10/29) are canceled as well. Please plan accordingly.
Students should plan to eat at the dining hall as early as possible this afternoon to avoid a rush near 6 p.m. As of Monday afternoon, classes are scheduled to resume Tuesday morning, October 30. However, please continue to check the College's website, the info line (413-748-5999), or watch for Springfield College Alerts for further updates.
Due to the anticipated impact of Hurricane Sandy on the region, including rain, wind gusts, possible power outages, and the threat of flooding, all classes have been canceled on Monday, October 29. Only essential personnel should report to campus.
Springfield College continues to closely monitor Hurricane Sandy. Please monitor weather reports as well as the College's website or call the Springfield College weather line at (413) 748-5999 for updated emergency information.
The College's Emergency Preparedness Committee met on Friday, Oct. 26, and will continue to assess the situation as the storm nears our area.
