The Springfield College visual resources reflect our mission to document the history of Springfield College as well as the YMCA movement and physical education in the United States and abroad.


Springfield College Images



The Springfield College photograph collection is a collection of Springfield College related photographic prints organized by subject. Also, the Office of Marketing and Communications Image Collection includes thousands of slides that document Springfield College athletics, academic and research activities, faculty and staff, campus and buildings, events including alumni reunion and homecoming, student life including service activities, and Springfield College Presidents Locklin, Falcone, and Bromery.

Access to all images is currently available only through the assistance of Archives staff during our normal business hours, 9am-4pm, Monday through Thursday. Please contact the College Archivist tel. 413-748-3309 archives@spfldcol.edu to make an appointment.

YMCA Historical Image Collection, 1880-1920

Approximately 2000 photographs and other visual resources that document the YMCA movement in the United States from the 1880s to the 1920s, including the early years of Springfield College, are available in Voyager, the library’s online catalog.


Digital Treasures

Digital Treasures is a digital library collection of the agricultural & industrial cultural history of Central & Western Massachusetts. Primary and contributing institutions include member libraries of the C/WMARS library network and the CMRLS & WMRLS regional library systems. The Springfield College Collection contains a sampling of the rich materials of and created by faculty, students and historic figures such as Sir George Williams involved in the history of the school.
