Deaf Studies Minor
The minor in deaf studies program offers training to students interested in issues that affect those who are deaf/hard of hearing. The minor provides students with courses related to the communication, audiological, linguistic, cultural, educational, and social needs of people who are deaf/hard of hearing.
Students learn how to communicate with those who are deaf/hard of hearing, educational and communication choices that families must make, how hearing is assessed, assistive technology, and specific therapeutic techniques needed to assess and increase speech, language, listening, and speechreading skills.
