When is Pre-Camp?

Tuesday, September 1 - Friday, September 4, 2009
Pre-Campers check in to New Student Orientation on the morning of Friday, September 4, 2009

What is Pre-Camp?

Pre-Camp Pre-Camp is a program for first-year students to meet people, feel comfortable, and gain a sense of self before getting into the rigor of campus life.

We spend four days and three nights out at Springfield College’s East Campus, a nature zone a mile and a half away from the main campus. East Campus has outdoor sleeping facilities, as well as hiking trails, picnic areas, wide open fields, and a waterfront.

Pre-Camp

Mission Statement

Incoming students will feel comfortable with themselves, others, and Springfield College, enabling a positive outlook on their future years at Springfield College.

Pre-Camp leaders will exhibit school spirit by portraying professionalism, leadership, and confidence, and by forming strong bonds with Pre-Camp participants to ensure success through shared experiences.

By the end of Pre-Camp, the group will be able to accept each other’s differences and use them to come together as a community built upon trust, respect, comfort, friendship, loyalty, understanding, and the ability to apply these values in future endeavors.
