Zimbalist To Deliver Karpovich Lecture
Andrew Zimbalist, Ph.D., will present “Sports, Stadiums, and Economic Development” at the 2005 Peter V. Karpovich Lecture Monday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m. in Appleton Auditorium, Fuller Arts Center. Zimbalist is a renowned economist in areas including comparative economic systems and economic development, focusing on Latin American and Cuban economics, and sport economics, including baseball, sport labor, and sport stadiums. He is a Robert A. Woods Professor of Economics at Smith College in Northampton, Mass.
The 2005 Karpovich Lecture is sponsored by the Springfield College communications and sports journalism major and the departments of social science, management and economics, and recreation and sport management.
