Articulation Agreement
Between
Springfield College
And
The New York College of Podiatric Medicine
This serves to record the understanding between Springfield College and the New York College of Podiatric Medicine (NYCPM). We, NYCPM, agree to accept into our first year class those students from Springfield College who have completed a minimum of 90 credits at Springfield College.
These credits must include the following courses with at least our usual grade expectation in each:
Biology 8 credits (1 year)
Organic Chemistry 8 credits (1 year)
Inorganic Chemistry 8 credits (1 year)
Physics 8 credits (1 year)
English 8 credits (1 year)
Student must also fulfill the admissions requirement of the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, which are:
* A timely and satisfactory formal application
* Three letters of evaluation of an acceptable level of endorsement
* Official MCAT scores at least equal to NYCPM’s current Minimum
* A satisfactory evaluation in a personal interview
In addition, students must have maintained a 3.00 grade point average (on a 4.00 scale) in all of their undergraduate coursework.
Springfield College agrees to accept, as transfer credits, those NYCPM courses, which comprise part of the first year study of podiatric medicine. They will, purposes of conferring a Bachelor’s Degree from Springfield College be regarded as Semesters 7 and 8 of the fourth year of a science major’s curriculum.
These courses are:
Biochemistry 6 credits
Immunology 3 credits
Cell Biology& Histology Lab 4 credits
Physiology & Lab 8 credits
Gross Anatomy & Lab 7 credits
The granting of these credits is subject to the following conditions:
a) Students enrolled in the New York College of Podiatric Medicine requesting transfer of credits must have completed each course with a grade of “C” or higher in order to receive transfer credit at Springfield College.
b) The ultimate awarding of such transfer credits to a particular student remains prerogative of the student’s major department at Springfield College.
Although we anticipate a long and mutually satisfying relationship between our two educational institutions, this agreement may be discontinued for any reason providing that written notice is given 12 months prior to such discontinuation and that those students who have been accepted under this aggrement be permitted to complete their course of study.
