KIRKSVILLE COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE
AND
SPRINGFIELD COLLEGE
PREOSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE SCHOLARS PROGRAM
Purpose of the Program
The PreOsteopathic Medicine Scholars Program is designed to provide admission opportunities to outstanding students of Springfield College who have as their goal to become Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine. The program is conducted under joint collaboration of Springfield College and the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM).
Under this program, Springfield College students apply to the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine at the end of their sophomore year. A maximum of two (2) students will be awarded reserved admissions to KCOM at the beginning of the junior year at Springfield College. The student can spend the last two years at Springfield College meeting graduation and major/minor requirements, taking electives, fulfilling internship and/or service opportunities, and otherwise broadening their life experiences. The Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine reserves the right to, at anytime, reject a student deemed unsuitable for the program.
