Meet the Staff

David Hall

Dave Hall

Director
Dave completed his bachelor's degree in psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va., and a graduate assistantship at the University of West Florida, in Pensacola, Fla. He spent five years as assistant director of recreation at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, before moving to Stockton, Calif., to become director of campus recreation at the University of the Pacific in June 2000, where he also received his Ed.D. in educational administration and leadership. He began at Springfield College as its first director of campus recreation in 2005. 

Peter Avdoulos

Peter Avdoulos

Assistant Director (Facilities & Aquatics)
Pete received his bachelor of science degree in business management from Springfield College.  He is also entering his twenty-fifth season as the head men's and women's diving coach at the College.  Pete coordinates all pool operations as well as scheduling for all athletic facilities on campus.  He currently maintains the national Certified Pool Operator status.   

Christine St. Laurent

Assistant Director (Fitness & Wellness)
Chris received her bachelor of science degree in kinesiology-exercise science and master of science degree in kinesiology-exercise physiology from James Madison University in Virginia. Chris has worked in hospital, university, sports performance, and spa-based fitness and wellness centers as a personal trainer, program leader, and group fitness instructor and has taught as an adjunct instructor for various exercise science courses. Chris came to Springfield College after working for the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, where she was the coordinator of fitness and wellness programs in Campus Recreation.

Kristen Brosius

Kristen Brosius

Coordinator of Facility Operations and Student Development
Kristen received her bachelor of science degree in exercise and sport psychology (health science/psychology) from Keene State in New Hampshire. She recently received her M.Ed. in athletic counseling and is currently finishing her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in clinical mental health counseling. Prior to becoming a full-time member of the staff at Springfield College, Kristen served as the graduate associate (facilities/fitness, marketing) for the Department of Campus Recreation.

Kate McMahon

Kate McMahon

Health Educator
Kate attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she received a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology. She recently graduated from Springfield College, earning an M.Ed. in exercise science and sport studies with a concentration in health promotion and disease prevention. Last year, she was the graduate associate for fitness and wellness for Campus Recreation, and has continued working in the department as the full-time health educator. In addition, Kate does personal training and teaches group exercise classes at the College.

Tom

Tom St. John

Coordinator of Intramural and Club Sports
Tom received his bachelor of science degree in business administration with a concentration in management from the University of Maine.  After graduation, Tom spent three years working for the Bangor YMCA, where he served as the assistant director of recreation sports and as a summer camp director.  Following the Bangor YMCA, Tom pursued his M.Ed in counseling education from the University of Maine, where he also served as graduate assistant for Intramurals and started a summer camp for the University's Campus Recreation Department. 

Maureen

Maureen Naglieri

Administrative Assistant
Maureen was born and raised in Springfield, MA. Maureen previously worked at Monarch Life Insurance Company and Bay Path College as an Administrative Assistant for the college's Facilities and Purchasing Departments. She has been employed by Springfield College since August 2004. She worked in the Residence Life office until 2007 as an administrative secretary and now works for the Campus Recreation Department as an Administrative Assistant. Maureen enjoys reading, walking, and spending time with her family.

Andrea

Andrea Malloch

Intramural Sports & Climbing Wall Graduate Associate
Born in Plymouth, Mass., Andrea received her B.S. degree in accounting from Elms College in nearby Chicopee. She is currently working towards her M.S. degree in occupational therapy. Andrea has been serving as the graduate associate (facilities/aquatics/climbing wall) for the department of Campus Recreation for the past 2 years. Prior to last year, she was the assistant softball coach at Elms College. She has also been an AmeriCorps member at Springfield College.

Meredith Merchant

Facilities & Special Events Graduate Associate
Meredith received her Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Leisure Management with a concentration in Health/Fitness from Eastern Connecticut State University. Currently, she is working to pursue a Master of Science degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology here at Springfield College. Last year, Meredith was a wellness assistant and supervisor for the Campus Recreation department and assisted with teaching the Exercise Test and Prescription lab here at Springfield College. She continues to teach at Springfield College.

Jessica Zurell

Fitness and Wellness Graduate Associate
Jes grew up in Broad Brook, Connecticut and earned her B.F.A. from Syracuse University while working as a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. She specialized in bootcamp-style formats and stability ball training. She is currently working on her M.A. in Art Therapy at Springfield College.
