New Summer Study Abroad Program

A Faculty-Led, Six-Week, Study Abroad Dance Program in Italy - Passion, Power & Creative Process: Unmasking Dance in the Italian Renaissance
Join us for an unforgettable summer learning experience in beautiful Italy! Passion, Power, & Creative Process: Unmasking Dance in the Italian Renaissanceis a faculty-led, six-week, study abroad program in dance. This course is designed to introduce students to the historical and artistic origins of dance as a theater art, with the focus on developments during the Italian Renaissance. Studies will include Italian folk and court dance forms; ballet and contemporary forms; and Renaissance art, theater design, music, and costumes. Learn more.

    University of Newcastle:
    The University of Newcastle is located in Newcastle, which is north of Sydney on the North Coast of South Wales. The school welcomes approximately 400 students through exchange and study abroad programs across the United States and Europe every year.

    University of Wollongong:
    The university is located in Wollongong, just ninety minutes from the center of Sydney. It is a coastal location, and it boasts a smaller city environment that is friendly and welcoming. The student population at UOW includes students from over seventy countries, with international students accounting for more than thirty percent of total enrolments.

    York St. John:
    Centrally located in York, a lively city with plenty of nightlife both on and off campus, the university is less than two hours away from the capital city of London. It is home to 20,000 students, and offers an internet café and a large sports performance area with plenty of indoor courts, resistance equipment, and a climbing wall.

    Université de Paris (Sorbonne) and Institut Catholique de Paris (ICP):
    Both institutions are located in Paris, which is known as the “City of Lights.” Paris is a premier modern city, and a leader in politics, art and fashion. The city is broken into twenty districts, each of which has their own unique charm. The classes at the university are taught in French, and there is an option to take a French refresher course before the semester starts.

    Centre Universitaire d’Etudes Francaises (CUEF) at Université Stendhal – Grenoble III:
    Grenoble III is home to one of the oldest universities in Europe, and is well-known for its programs for foreigners learning French. The city boasts a student population of 60,000, and its classes are taught in French. Grenoble is located in the southeast part of France, is only three hours from Paris, and is close to Switzerland and Italy.

    Grenoble École de Management:
    Located in Grenoble, in the southeast part of France, École de Management is one of a select group of institutions worldwide to receive the triple crown of business accreditations. The classes at the university are taught in both English and French. The city boasts a student population of 60,000 and is a friendly, alpine city close to Switzerland and Italy, and only three hours away from Paris.

    Dublin City University:

    Dublin City University is located in the capital city of Dublin, and the campus is comprised of about 10,000 students. Dublin is full of a strong sense of history and culture, yet is still a friendly an up-and-coming cultural hotspot.

    The University of Limerick is located in Limerick, which is in midwest Ireland, and is the capital of the County Shannon. The school hosts more than 10,000 students, and being located in Limerick, is an excellent center for sports and tourism.

Italy

    The Lorenzo De’Medici School (Tuscania, Rome, Venice, & Florence):

    Through this program, the student will spend one month in each of the following cities: Tuscania, Rome, and Florence. The classes are taught in both English and Italian. The set-up of this program allows students to experience small, medium and large Italian cities, while discovering the roots of western civilization and culture.

    John Cabot University (Rome):
    John Cabot University is located in Rome, the capital city of Italy, which is known as the “Eternal City.” There is a large student population in Rome, and the classes are taught in both English and Italian. John Cabot is centrally located in the Trastevere neighborhood, placing students only a short walk from many of Rome’s most historic sites.

    The Meditteranean Center for Arts and Sciences, Syracuse (Sicily):
    Located on the eastern edge of Sicily and surrounded by the Meditteranean Sea, the Mediterranean Center for Arts and Sciences is housed in a seventeeth-century baroque palazzo. The classes here are taught in both English and Italian. Syracuse, Sicily, is one of the oldest cities in Italy, and was one of the ancient world’s most powerful.

New Zealand

    University of Auckland:
    Located in Auckland, also known as the “City of Sails,” the campus is home to 27,000 students. Auckland is positioned in the north of New Zealand’s North Island, and is New Zealand’s largest city. The campus is surrounded by plenty of beaches, hiking trails, and other surrounding islands.

    Victoria University of Wellington:
    The Victoria University of Wellington boasts 21,000 students, including 2,800 international students, and is located in Wellington. Wellington is on the southern tip of the North Island of New Zealand, and is considered New Zealand’s political, cultural, and creative capital city.

    University of Otago:
    The University of Otago is the oldest (founded in 1869) and most prestigious university in New Zealand. It is located in the South Island of New Zealand in Dunedin, a city by the sea. Dunedin has white-sand beaches, bush-clad hills, tidal inlets, and volcanic land forms. Nature abounds in Dunedin where you will find coastal colonies of yellow-eyed penguins and the world’s only mainland breeding colony of the royal albatross.

    University of Stirling:
    Known as the “Gateway to the Highlands,” Stirling is an ancient fortress city with a campus of about 9,000 students. Stirling is located in the center of Scotland, and the university offers extensive indoor and outdoor sports facilities, including a pool and golf courses.

    Napier University:
    Napier University is located in Edinburgh, Scotland, an ancient city that serves as the capital, and it has been designated as a World Heritage Site by the United Nations. The campus of Napier consists of more than 14,000 students, and is a multi-campus university with three main sites in Edinburgh. The University also offers many sports clubs for students to join, as well as an International Student Club, which hosts events throughout the year.

Spain

    Alcalingua de la Universidad de Alcalá:
    The city of Alcalá de Henares is located thirty kilometers northeast of Madrid on the Castilian Plateau. Alcalá de Henares is famous for being the birthplace of Miguel de Cervantes, author of the book Don Quixote. The classes are taught in Spanish, as Alcalingua (the language part of the University) specializes in teaching students for whom Spanish is a foreign language.

    Suffolk University Madrid:

    The Suffolk University Madrid Campus is the Spanish "branch campus" of Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts. The Madrid Campus is a full-service educational institution, fully accredited in both Spain and the U.S.

    Since most courses are taught in English, Suffolk University Madrid is the perfect study abroad option for students who want learn to Spanish, live and study in Spain, but do not want a complete language immersion experience.

    Universidad de Salamanca (Spanish Language and Culture Program):

    The city of Salamanca is considered one of the most spectacular Renaissance cities in Europe. The Plaza Mayor is said to be the most beautiful plazas in all of Spain. Salamanca is located in central Spain where the kingdom of Castilla and Aragón first unified the country. The university, founded in 1218, is the oldest in Spain and Pope Alexander IV acknowledged it as one of the four great universities in the world.
