Alumni Hall
About Alumni Hall
Alumni Hall was built in 1927, making it the oldest residence hall on campus. This upper-class and all-male residence hall houses 250 students in adjoining single and double rooms. Alumni Hall has been home to many residents throughout the last century, including soldiers and one student who went on to become a professional wrestler. Located in the southeastern part of campus, Alumni Hall is a short walk from Cheney Hall, the College’s dining facility, and is across the street from the Public Safety Department. Over half of the occupants have a scenic view of Lake Massasoit. The hall has a common kitchen located on the first floor. Also on the first floor is Carlisle Foyer, a large multi-purpose room with a pool table, ping pong table, foosball table, and big-screen TV. In the rear of Alumni is MacLean Terrace, which overlooks Alumni Green and serves as a focal point for concerts and special events on campus.Students who reside in the hall have an option of living in a single room. There are also adjoining singles which allow students to have a roommate, yet also enjoy the comfort of having their own space. There are also traditional double rooms.
No matter where you reside in Alumni Hall, you will leave with an appreciation for the tradition and history that characterizes this facility.
There are many exciting events which take place in Alumni Hall, including:
- Alumni Haunted Hall – This event is put on by the residence life staff and students of Alumni Hall, and brings a bit of Halloween to campus. Not only are Springfield College students welcome, but also members of the neighboring community.
- World Series and Super Bowl – It has become a tradition for the residents of Alumni to gather in Carlisle Foyer to watch major sporting events together. Not to mention, there is always something to eat!
