AmeriCorps Application Process
To be eligible for the Springfield College AmeriCorps Program, you must meet our eligibility requirements.Graduate students from all academic programs are encouraged to apply. This is a great opportunity for you to get involved in the local community, network with other graduate students, and gain valuable experience. You will learn teamwork, communication, responsibility, and other essential skills that will help you for the rest of your life, and you’ll gain the personal satisfaction of taking on a challenge and seeing results.
To apply, complete the AmeriCorps Application and submit it to the AmeriCorps Program Office along with the following:
- Three letters of recommendation
- Brief personal statement, responding to the questions on the first page of the application
- A copy of your résumé
Applications received after April 1 will be considered until the corps is filled. Applications are placed in review as they become complete, provided space is still available. Once the application has been reviewed, the program staff will conduct personal interviews. Selection criteria include high moral and ethical standards; commitment to lifelong learning and community service; and appropriate knowledge, skills, and experience in one of the four service areas.
