Fit 2 Lead Program
What is the Fit 2 Lead Program?
The Fit 2 Lead program is a residential living and learning community for first-year students at Springfield College. It provides students with an opportunity to excel in two of the areas that Springfield College is most noted for: wellness and leadership. Rooted in our commitment to the Humanics philosophy, Fit 2 Lead recognizes wellness as the development of spirit, mind, and body.Wellness can be thought of as encompassing the ideas of health’s multiple dimensions. Optimal health involves striving for improvement and balance in all dimensions, and that every person has unique gifts and limitations. The Springfield College Wellness Model, which we embrace as the core of the Fit 2 Lead program, illustrates how the central concepts of spirit, mind, and body are expressed in the personal principles of the middle ring of the wheel and the personal actions contained in the outer ring of the wheel. The ideas shown in the wellness wheel require a dynamic, ever-changing process of achieving individual potential. This is, in reality, a lifelong process.

The Fit 2 Lead program strives to equip students with skills, knowledge, and experience that will aid in fostering personal and academic success. Students who have participated in Fit 2 Lead in the past have applied the skills gained through the program to become campus leaders as peer wellness educators in the P.A.W.S program, as resident assistants, and as creators and officers of several student activities organizations.
Students wishing to participate in the program must complete the enclosed application and agree to participate fully in the Fit 2 Lead program.
Where do members of the Fit 2 Lead program live?
Fit 2 Lead is designed around developing a residential community in Gulick Hall, one of Springfield College's first-year residence halls. This serves to provide students with the opportunity to build relationships and reflect on shared experiences with other members of the program. Additionally, participants have the opportunity to contribute to the Gulick Hall community as role models for students through demonstrating a shared commitment to making responsible lifestyle choices. The Fit 2 Lead program is housed adjacent to the Emerging Leaders Program to enhance collaboration among the programs. What does the Fit 2 Lead program consist of?
The Fit2Lead program requires a full-year commitment. Participants are required to attend the following events:- The Fall Retreat, held at Springfield College’s East Campus
- Monthly educational workshops (topics to be determined by residents)
- Monthly social events
- Spring Overnight Retreat
