Class of '49/50
Dear Classmates of ’49 and ’50:
Here’s more news about our upcoming Reunion.
First of all: Reunion dates are June 4-7 (No, we haven’t changed them)
Good news about our fund- raising. To date, the Class of ’49 has brought in a total of $8,886 in cash and an additional$10,025 in pledges. Not to be outdone, the Class of ’50 has contributed $106,295 in cash with another $11,103 in pledges. We encourage everyone to give what they are able to this year.
We are planning to invite the widows of classmates to the reunion. Bobbie Ellison, ’49 will be writing a special letter to these people urging them to come. Their Saturday night dinners will be paid for by the class treasury.
This dinner will include the acknowledgement of our classmates who have passed on.
A reminder that a block of rooms at the Enfield Crown Plaza Hotel in Enfield CT has been reserved for us. The hotel provides transportation from Bradley Field to the hotel. The College will have periodic transportation to and from the campus. To make reservations call with your major credit card by May 14, 2009. Ask for the ’49 /’50 block of rooms for reunion. We have heard from over 40 classmates in the two classes who plan to attend our big event. The list of those people is included with this letter.
Ted Dunn G’47 will be in attendance as our guest and he looks forward to being with us.
There will be a brochure with full details about the weekend going out during the spring. Look for it and don’t toss it.
One piece of bad news. Ed Simmons, ’49, a member of this Committee, passed away on December 8. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
