Lakeside Hall

About Lakeside Hall

Lakeside Hall was built in 1960, a year of many changes and new landscapes for Springfield College. All of the floors in Lakeside are single-sex, and the hall is centrally located on campus, situated across the street from the Wellness Center and Field House. Lakeside is also just a short walk to any other facility on campus.

Lakeside Hall is made up of five floors. The two lower floors overlook Gulick Hall and Lake Massasoit. The top three floors overlook Gulick Hall, Lake Massasoit, and the Abbey Green. All residents have a selection of double rooms and some single rooms. The fourth and fifth floors have smaller lounges used for socials and programming spaces. The second floor is where the main lounge is located, and is where students enjoy a big-screen TV, a ping pong table, a pool table, and a full-size kitchen. For students who like being outside, they can use the building’s outdoor patio to take in the views of Lake Massasoit and the yearly foliage.

There are many exciting events which take place in Lakeside Hall, including:
  • Late Night Breakfast – A time for residents to gather and enjoy some time off from studying for finals.
  • Powder Puff Game – The ladies of Lakeside spend an afternoon in the spring to play an annual game of flag football while the men cheer them on.
