Men's and Women's Track and Field/Cross Country Reunion
Save the Date! Friday, Dec. 4 - Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009
Dear Track and Field and Cross Country Alumni,
We hope you are enjoying some warm and relaxing summer days. You have already received the Save the Date card regarding this winter’s Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country team reunion. It’s hard to believe it has been five years since we all got together for our last reunion. Well, we are happy to report it’s time to gather the ‘old guard’, as Coach Cox would say, and meet once again on the hallowed ground we call Springfield College. We have a great weekend planned and we want you to be a part of it.
Top 15 Reasons to Attend the Track and Field and Cross Country Reunion December 4-5
- 15) You want to congratulate the athlete that broke your school record.
- 14) You want to see who shows up and reconnect with some old teammates and friends.
- 13) To show your support for Springfield College. That should be a good enough reason.
- 12) To enjoy watching Springfield’s athletes in action.
- 11) You heard Springfield College has a brand new indoor track. You don’t believe it so you have to see it for yourself.
- 10) Your Springfield College gear is a little ratty, so you need to buy some new stuff at the campus store.
- 9) You’ve started to forget some of Charlie Duggan’s stories so you need to hear them again.
- 8) Your supply of C’s is running low, and Coach Klatka is the only person you know with authority to dispense them.
- 7) There is a strong possibility Michael “Spider” Brown will be there.
- 6) They have reopened Vin’s Gym, The Well, and Anthony’s for this weekend only; $3.00 cover gets you into all three. (Wooden Nickels will work at Anthony’s.)
- 5) You forgot to turn your roll into Carm.
- 4) First you want to see if the brook is still there and how deep it is, and whether or not your favorite left foot racing flat still stuck in the mud?
- 3) You really miss some of your old running loops and you want to see if there’s any magic left in your old legs.
- 2) You have one season of eligibility left and you want to check out the new facilities.
- 1) You don’t really remember what happened in Bermuda or Aruba, but you have to find out.
It was difficult to stop at 15, which tells you there are many reasons to come back to SC for what will be a great weekend!
We need your help
We are asking all of you to do the following:Call your teammates/friends and encourage them to attend! If you can’t come to the whole thing, come for part of the weekend!
We are hoping to bring back as many alums as possible. With your help, we can make this a fun and successful reunion. Please make every effort to come and join the Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country Reunion Committee for a terrific time.
