Area of Curriculum Emphasis Introduced
Effective in fall 2010, SCSSW will introduce an area of emphasis component in the advanced generalist concentration year of the M.S.W. program. The area of emphasis will enable students to choose to focus their concentration year of study including field internships, capstone assignments, and elective course selections. The School is in the process of formalizing details regarding the areas of emphasis that will be introduced to include: child and family services, gerontological social work, and school social work. The area of emphasis component supports labor market demands for professional social workers and assures that graduates will meet specific certification and competency requirements.
Students can learn more about the area of emphasis option during information sessions.
