YMCA Club at Springfield College
The YMCA Club is a group of students from a wide variety of majors who organize many volunteer, professional and leadership development activities, and social events. The choices of events and trips are based on the interest of the students in the Club. New York City, San Diego, and Chicago are just a few of the many places we have been! Aside from on campus events that help teach leadership skills the Club also provides opportunities to meet other students and travel.
Past accomplishments of the YMCA club include attending the New York City Teen Peace Conference, APD Conference, Frost Valley and Silver Bay YMCA trips. A Spring break tour of 16 states in 8 days, visiting over 20 YMCAs, attending CCY conferences, hosting Saturday at Springfield College. leadership for college bound teens and Y Club students. These are examples of the many opportunities that are available to the students.
The Club is organized by a student Leadership Team who practice the skills they learn in academic classes (Marketing, Budgeting, Program Development, etc.) as they work to create an exciting set of opportunities for students interested in YMCA careers or other professional endeavors.
Why the Y Club? There are reasons to stay active and involved: internship experiences, professional development opportunities, networking, leadership development, adventure, travel, outdoor activities, and plain old fun!
