Forensic Science

Christopher Montagna graduated from Springfield College's Laboratory Sciences program in 1985. He attended the University of New Haven (CT) where he earned a Master's of Science degree in Forensic Science. In 1989, he began his professional career as a Forensic Chemist with the Maine State Police Crime Laboratory assigned to the Trace/Serology Section. In 1997, Chris received a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Maine at Orono. In 1998, Chris assumed responsibility as the Forensic Section Supervisor for the Maine Health & Environmental Testing Laboratory in Augusta. As the Forensic Section Supervisor, Chris oversees the State's Controlled Substances, Blood/Breath Alcohol determination, Toxicology, Equine Racing and Radio-Chemistry Units. Chris served as President of the Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists and Sub-committee Chair for the F.B.I.'s Technical Working Group for Material's Analysis (TWGMAT). He currently serves as an Adjunct professor at the University of Maine in Augusta.
