Dr. Peter Vincent graduated in 1981 from Springfield College with a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry. He continued at Springfield College as a teaching assistant in the Biology Department while working towards his Masters degree in Exercise Physiology. In 1983, Peter became a graduate student in the Department of Physiology at Albany Medical College and received his Ph.D. in 1988. He continued his training at Albany Medical College obtaining a National Research Service Award from the National Institutes of Health to study the role of fibronectin on microvascular fluid and solute exchange in the lung. In 1992, Peter became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology at Albany Medical College. His research has focused on elucidating the cellular mechanisms regulating changes in endothelial barrier function following inflammation in the pulmonary circulation. His research has been supported by grants received from the American Lung Association, American Heart Association, and the National Institutes of Health (Heart, Lung And Blood Institute). Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Center for Cardiovascular Sciences at Albany Medical College where he serves as Associate Director and Director of Graduate Education.
