Flight itineraries
Leave copies of your flight itinerary with the International Center at Springfield College and your parents.  If your host institution provides airport pick-up, be sure that you have send them your itinerary by their deadline date.

Travel plans
When you do your independent traveling, you must leave your itineraries (where you are going, where you will be staying, with whom or with what group or company you will be traveling, how long you will be gone, when you will return, how people can contact you while you are away, e.g., a cell phone number.  Supply as complete information as you can. Leave this information with your parents, the International Center at Springfield College (e-mail Dr. Szewczynski), and the international center at the Study Abroad Office of your host university.  Also, consider leaving this information with a fellow student who will not be traveling with you.

Baggage

Be sure to check with your specific airline carrier what you are allowed to bring in your carry-on and if you can even have a carry-on.  Also, find out the maximum weight for your check-in and if you are still allowed 2 pieces of luggage to check in.  Take the time and weigh your bags at home.

Passports

Do not pack your passport.  Keep it on your person and check to make sure that it is signed. Put a copy of your passport in your luggage and give one to your parents.  Be sure that we have a copy in your file at the International Center.
