Space in the newly renovated Hickory Hall has been transformed into the new Academic Success Center, a dynamic learning center for Springfield College students. Math Support Services, Writing Support Services, and Learning Support Services – formerly the Math Lab, Writing Lab, and Office of Student Support Services – now function together in one location.
The center offers readily and easily accessible services, including help in writing, mathematics, subject area tutoring, study skills counseling, and assistance for students with documented disabilities. Its goal is to help Springfield College students pinpoint skills in need of enhancement, and to supply them with the tools and support to do so.
The creation of the Academic Success Center demonstrates Springfield College’s commitment to its mission and the promotion of academic excellence, and is a result of the recommendations made by the 2004 Learning Support Task Force. Opening in the fall of 2007, under the direction of Andrew Wilcox, the center marks the expansion of both the breadth and depth of the academic services that Springfield College offers its students.
