Alden Street Review

Every spring, the students at Springfield College publish a literary magazine called The Alden Street Review. Student editors select many of the best poems, short stories, essays, and art created on campus. Some work comes from pieces sharpened and focused in creative writing courses—often taught by professor Margaret Lloyd, whose book, This Particular Earthly Scene, was recently published by Alice James Books. But many, many submissions also come from the diverse and hidden talent that is an exciting part of the Springfield College community.

The two faculty advisors, professors Missy-Marie Montgomery and Roy Bryan, are also published poets—they have numerous works published in respected magazines, and Roy Bryan's Winter Lightning was published by Wild Thistle Press. Each of them works to empower students to make careful and considered editorial choices. Since many student editors have learned skills in desktop writing and publishing courses, they often produce The Alden Street Review from beginning to end.

If you would like to pick up a copy of The Alden Street Review, copies are still available on the main floor of Weiser Hall.
