Online Class Participation
All online discussion does not constitute good online class participation. Class participation that contributes to a positive grade is characterized by the following:- Connecting personal experiences to the concepts being studied by giving an orderly, brief version of experience with a point that is clearly stated.
- Developing and expressing original points of view.
- Displaying evidence of having completed, understood, and applied the readings for the assignments.
- Incorporating ideas shared by others and the instructor to contribute to a more comprehensive mental picture of the concept under discussion.
- Posing real-life questions or challenges that spring from the discussion and attempt to shape an "informed" conclusion.
