Manhattan Navigational Guidelines
- It is recommended that you check your online course for new postings and assignments at least three (3) times a week. It may be helpful to create a schedule or make a note of what days and times during the week you will follow thru on checking your online class.
- When a module has a red star on it, something new has been posted in that module that you need to read or review.
- Use all resources posted in the Handouts and Notices module.
- Print a hard copy of your syllabus.
- Type all work in Microsoft Word or some other software program, and save your work in Rich Text Format (.rtf).
- If you are using Microsoft Office 2007 do not save or send documents in Manhattan with the file extension (*.docx). Instead, save your work in the Rich Text Format (.rtf).
- Do not type full assignments in the message box of Manhattan. The message box is to be used for responses, messages, or threaded discussion forums.
- Take an active part in your online intellectual community. Doing so supports the overall success of your online experience.
- Be aware of the times your professor is available online or via telephone for questions, answers, and responses, and respect those times. Give your instructor time to open and read your messages.
- If you forget your password, call or email your instructor and ask him/her to reset your Manhattan password. It will reset back to your username so you can repeat the process of creating a password.
- If you are not able to contact your instructor after three (3) tries for resetting of your password, then contact the SHS Tech help contact person at your campus. See the list below for the correct contact person. Be sure to state the following in your message:
