Tampa Bay -- Campus Director's Welcome
Welcome! The Tampa Bay Campus is an exciting place for a pedagogical journey because YOU are the most important part of this educational process, not the teachers, not the institution, YOU! You do not arrive as an empty vessel; the life, work, family, and community experiences you bring to the classrooms give them value. The sharing of experiences among students (participants) and teachers (facilitators) increases total awareness and promotes critical thinking, and that is what makes our program successful.Springfield College is recognized as an institution of higher learning of collegiate rank by the Board of Collegiate Authority of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, which accredits schools and colleges in six New England states. The Tampa Bay Campus has been granted a license to offer its degree programs for a Bachelor of Science in Human Services and a Master of Science in Human Services by the Florida Commission on Independent Education -- Colleges and Universities. We opened our doors in January 1998 with offices and classrooms located at the Tampa Metropolitan YMCA facilities. Today, we have been located in our own free standing building since 2003, at the address listed on our web page.
The College's Humanics Philosophy statement says -- Educating the whole person in spirit, mind, and body in service to humanity. Please feel free to speak with any faculty or staff member at any time. We are here to assist you and help make your experience in our program a successful one. Welcome.
