The Undeclared Major at Springfield College
Students may enter Springfield College without declaring a specific field of study, and are classified as undeclared until they officially select a more permanent major.
Undeclared majors at Springfield College have the opportunity to explore various academic and personal interests, as well as career options, until they have a better understanding of some of the fields that interest them.
Through the College’s First-Year Seminar course, a required course for undeclared students, students are provided with useful tools for career exploration, as well as other skills, such as time and stress management and study strategies.
Working with advisors who are specially trained to work with undeclared majors, students will go through a process of exploration and decision-making that will help them to make an informed decision about the academic program that is right for them.
Entering undeclared students have the opportunity to choose one of six tracks that best meets their areas of interest.
