Adventure Camp (Ages 14-16)

Adventure Camp is designed for campers who are eager for a challenge! Campers ages fourteen to sixteen have the opportunity to help build their adventure. With the support of the Camp Massasoit staff, campers will help choose, plan, and implement their two weeks of fun! The first week of each session will be spent preparing for their trip, which takes place Monday through Friday of the second week. The second week of Adventure Camp is all off-site, in campgrounds around the areas where their outdoor adventures will take place. A more detailed itinerary will be sent home during the first few days of the session your child is enrolled in. Adventure Camp is open to twelve campers per session, and space is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Camp Massasoit will provide the “technical” equipment required for all trips. Adventure campers should be in relatively healthy condition and be able to handle the physical rigors inherent in the proposed activities; this might include, but is not limited to the following: carrying a forty pound backpack for four to six miles a day over uneven ground, canoeing up to fifteen miles a day, and lifting heavy objects.

Camp runs Monday through Friday, with the day beginning at 8:15 a.m. and ending with camper pick-up at 4:15 p.m. Adventure Camp may have some trips that begin earlier and return later during the first week; if this occurs you will be informed prior to their off-site adventure. Camp Massasoit also provides optional early and late care services at no additional cost. Early care begins at 7:30 a.m., and late care extends to 5:15 p.m. Adventure campers will depart Camp Massasoit on Monday morning of the second week and will return around mid-day on Friday. Campers are required to bring their own snacks and lunches during the first week of camp, but lunchtime milk and refrigeration is provided. Campers will bring their lunch on the Monday of the second week, but following that meal food is provided for the remainder of the week.
