Softball Garners NFCA Team Academic Honor
Springfield, Mass. - October 16, 2007 -- The Springfield College softball team was recently honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for its success in the classroom.Under the direction of head coach Kathy Mangano, the Pride was tabbed as a 2006-2007 NFCA All-Academic Team. The squad posted a cumulative GPA of 3.487 last season.
As a team, Springfield had the third-high grade point average of any team in Division III. This was the highest that a Springfield softball team has ever finished in this ranking.

Head Coach Julie Perrelli
Julie Perrelli was been named an Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Head Softball Coach at Springfield College in June of 2009. The head softball coach at Smith for the past three years, Perrelli received both her doctorate (this past May) and her masters in 2004 from Springfield College, where she served as a graduate assistant for the Pride from the 2003 through 2006 seasons.
