Women's Track & Field Competes At BU, MIT Invitationals

Cambridge, Mass., - Springfield College senior Leyla Williams (Unionville, N.Y.) finished second in the weight throw with a NCAA Division III provisional-qualifying effort to lead the Pride at the MIT Co-Ed Invitational Saturday in Cambridge, Mass.

Williams' throw of 48 feet, 5 inches was also her career personal best. Also in the weight events, junior Leah Sullivan (Northboro, Mass.) finished third in the shot put with an effort of 40 feet, 4.5 inches.

Sophomore Sarah Tyman (West Suffield, Conn.) finished second in the 600 meter run (1:42.03), while running a leg on the victorious 1600-meter relay team (4:10.83).
