Roy Burch Named ECAC Swimmer of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (January 17, 2008) – Based on his outstanding performance in the tri-meet against Hartwick and Union last Saturday, Roy Burch was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Swimmer of the Week for the week ending January 13.

The Warwick, Bermuda native led the Pride to wins over both Hartwick and Union. Burch placed first in the 50 freestyle in a time of 21.13, and in the 100 freestyle as well in 48.39. The senior freestyler's time in the 50 free qualified him for the NCAA Championships.

Burch also contribued as the opening leg of the winning 400 medley relay team that finished in 3:41.06.

Burch and the Pride return to action on Sunday when they host NEWMAC-foes Coast Guard and MIT at 1:00 pm in the Art Linkletter Natatorium.
