This year, the NSCA awarded 239 collegiate athletes from 165 schools with this award.
D'Arrigo, a softball captain from Lexington, Mass. , and Uguccioni, a captain and an All-American hammer thrower in track & field from Colrain, Mass., were both selected by Springfield College Strength & Conditioning coach Brian Thompson, PhD, ATC, CSCS.
Said Thompson of D'Arrigo, "Lauren has been a leader in the weight room for the past three years. Her hard work and commitment inspire others. She not only leads by example, but also provides verbal encouragement and guidance to her teammates."
Said Thompson of Uguccioni, "Dominick is a role model for his teammates both in and out of the weight room. His hard work and dedication to strength and conditioning inspires everyone around him to work harder. His dedication paid off last year as a junior when he became an All-American in the hammer throw."
The NSCA All-American Program is in its 29th year, and is made possible by a grant from Power Systems, Inc., a Knoxville, Tennessee fitness product leader.
