Men's Gymnastics Edged By Temple, 206.400-202.950
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Feb. 23,2003 – Springfield College junior Tim Goetz (South Plainfield, N.J.) won the all-around competition (50.550), and placed second on the parallel bars (8.400), third on the still rings (8.900) and the high bar (8.600), but the Pride lost to Temple, 206.400-202.950, Sunday afternoon at Blake Arena.
Temple’s Alex Weber placed second in the all-around competition (50.500) with first-place finishes on the vault (9.050), and the parallel bars (8.550).
The Pride enjoyed its highest team score of the season this afternoon, besting a 198.650 at William & Mary on Feb. 2. SC sophomore Nelson Jimnez (Salem N.H.) took second place on the vault with a score of 9.00, and freshman Ted Brown (Westfield, N.J.) placed third on the pommel horse with a score of 8.850. Pride junior Mike Smith (Salt Lake, Utah) took third place in the all-around competition finishing with a score of 49.600.
