

Amanda DiPaolo and Jess Borsotti were named to the 2008 Academic All-America District I Second Team in the college division.
Borsotti, who hails from Northampton, Mass. received this same award last season and was a three-time New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Academic selection. She was given Springfield College's Female Scholar-Athlete Award for having the highest grade point average as a member of the senior class who is a student athlete. Borsotti owns a 3.89 GPA while majoring in Physician's Assistant.
A native of Garrison, N.Y., DiPaolo is a stellar student with a perfect grade point average of 4.0 in history. The sophomore was named All-ECAC Division III and First Team All-NEWMAC in the 10,000 meters. She was a NEWMAC All-Academic selection in both cross country and track and was a member of Springfield's All-New England distance medley relay squad in indoor track.
Jim Pennington enters his 26th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2009-2010. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
