

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – February 3, 2007 – The Springfield College men’s gymnastics team finished fourth of five teams in the James Madison Open this afternoon in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
The team scores were: Illinois-Chicago 193.300, William & Mary 189.400, Navy 188.800, Springfield 179.750, and host James Madison 158.700.
SC had four who placed in the top six in individual events. The top Pride finisher was sophomore Andy Kelly (Marston Mills, Mass.), who placed third in the parallel bars with a score of 8.25.
Junior Matt Davis (Southboro, Mass.) placed tied for fourth in the pommel horse with a score of 7.95. Junior JJ Ferreira (Naugatuck, Conn.) placed tied for fifth in the floor exercise with SC’s best score of the day, 8.35. And freshman Josh Spencer (Las Vegas, Nev.) tied for sixth in the horizontal bars with a score of 8.00.
Up next, the SC men’s gymnastics team hosts Temple in Blake Arena on Sunday, Feb. 18.
