Coast Guard Defeats Men's Tennis, 5-2

New London, Conn., April 14, 2005 – Springfield College junior Justin Freitas (East Providence, R.I.) and sophomore Alex Kosicki (Brooklyn, N.Y.) won two matches each, but the Pride fell to Coast Guard, 5-2, in NEWMAC men’s tennis action.

Freitas defeated Ryan Beck 4-6, 3-6, 6-4 in #2 singles and teamed with Kosicki to win at #2 doubles, 9-7. Kosicki was also victorious at #4 singles defeating Dan Lavinder 6-4, 6-1.

#2 - Justin Freitas/Alex Kosicki (SC) def. Matt Nakagawa/Dan Lavinder 9-7
#3 Alex Langbein/Jeff Crofts (CG) def. Tom Brittingham/Grayson Stalvey 8-2

Singles:
#1 - Nakagawa (CG) def. Rich Aseltine 6-1, 6-0
#2 – Freitas (SC) def. Beck 6-4, 3-6, 6-4
#3 - Flynn (SC) def. Clime 6-0, 4-6, 6-2
#4 - Kosicki (SC) def. Lavinder 6-4, 7-5
#5 - Hickey(CG) def. Langbein 6-4, 6-1
#6 - Crofts (SC) def. Brittingham 6-3, 6-1

The Pride (2-4) travel to Wheaton College on Saturday (April 16) starting at 1:00
