Women's Cross Country Finishes Sixth At NEWMAC Championships

WATERFORD, Conn. Oct. 30, 2004 – Springfield College junior
Meg Young (Hurley, N.Y) finished in 11th place to lead the Pride to sixth place out of 10 teams at New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Cross-Country Championships. Young completed the five-kilometer course in 19:00 to earn her second consecutive all-conference honor after placing fourth at the 2003 meet.
Freshman
Alyssa Brigham (Penacook, N.H.) was the second SC runner to cross the finish line, and graduate student
Suzie Snyder (Averill Park, N.Y) was third for the Pride. Brigham finished in 19:49 to place 27th and Snyder was 37th with a time of 20:06. Four seconds behind Snyder was junior
Jessie Zaccaro (Washingtonville, N.Y), placing 39th overall, followed by sophomore
Jackie Knoblock (Plymouth, Mass.) in 43rd place with a time of 20:17.
SC will run at the Division III ECAC Championships on Saturday Nov. 6 at Tufts.
