WHITEWATER, Wisc., March 23, 2007 – Freshman Audrey Lastra of Springfield College earned All-America status with her performance tonight at the NCGA Division III Women’s Gymnastics Championships at the Williams Center Kachel Gym at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
A native of New Milford, Conn., Lastra finished sixth nationally in the all-around with a score of 37.375. On four different occasions this season (coming in a five-meet span), Lastra set SC all-around records, the most recent coming on February 24th in a win over MIT. Lastra’s mark in that meet and current school record is 38.250.
The Pride sent eight individual competitors in all to the NCGA’s. All competed tonight, but for those competing in the vault, uneven parallel bars, balance beam, and floor exercise, their scores only count for half of their totals. Scores on Saturday night will be averaged into a final tally.
