GRANTHAM, Pa., Dec. 4, 2004 - Springfield College senior captain
Brian Viglione (Chelmsford, Mass.) was one of three individual champions and 16 place winners as the No. 6 Pride won the team championship at the Petrofes Invitational hosted by Messiah College.
Senior
Tim O’Donnell (Hudson, N.H.) and junior
Mike Fergosi (Carmel, N.Y.) won the 165 and 125-lb. titles, respectively, as the Pride compiled 170.5 points, ahead of runner-up Brockport (157.5) and third-place Mount Union (128) in the 12-team field.
Senior
Scott Fay (Danbury, Conn.), the eighth-ranked heavyweight in Division III, picked up four victories en route to a second place finish, while sophomore All-American
Mike Gaeta (Manalapan, N.J.) finished runner up in the 141-pound weight class and sophomore
Bill Koch (Hackettstown, N.J.) finished second at 165 pounds.
This was the Pride’s third tournament victory of the season, as the Pride also finished first in the Ithaca Invitational and Doug Parker Invitational.
The Pride kicks off the duel meet portion of its schedule this week, hosting WPI on Wednesday (Dec. 8) at 7:30 p.m. and Norwich on Saturday (Dec. 11) at 1:30 p.m. in Blake arena.

Former Springfield College All-American Daryl Arroyo will be entering his 20th season as the head wrestling coach at his alma mater in 2009-10. Under his tutelage, the Springfield College wrestling program has posted a 278-151-6 overall dual-meet record, good for an outstanding .646 winning percentage.
