Men's Tennis Defeats WNEC, 8-1
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., March 29, 2004- Springfield College senior Yuta Yoshi (Yokosuka, Japan) won at #1 singles and #1 doubles to lead the Pride to its first victory of the season, 8-1, over Western New England College this afternoon at Appleton Courts.
Yoshi beat WNEC junior David Stelmach (6-0, 6-1), and also teamed up with freshman Ethan Clime (Bristo, Maine) to win their #1 doubles match, 8-3.
SC senior Chris Sweeney (Wakefield, Mass.) was victorious at #4 singles, winning 6-2, 6-0.
The Pride improves to 1-3, while the Golden Bears fall to 1-6.

Tim Losee ’05, G’07 was named the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College in August of 2009. A former four-year member of Springfield’s men’s tennis team, Losee returns to his alma mater to pilot both the men’s and women’s tennis programs.
