Men's Golf Wraps Up Season at N.E.I.G.A Championship
SPRINGFIELD, Mass -October 23, 2007 - Over the 21st to the 23rd of October, the Springfield College's men's golf team finished up their season at the annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Championships held at The Captains Golf Course and its 36 hole layout in Cape Cod, Mass.

As a team, the Pride finished 38th of 42 teams that competed in the championship with a combined score of 690 strokes. The winner of the tournament was the University of Rhode Island with a combined score of 600 strokes. The Rams were followed by the University of Connecticut, which finished with a combined score of 608 strokes.

The Pride was led by junior Greg Levings (Averill Park, N.Y.) who tied for 141st overall out of 209 competitors with a combined score of 169 strokes (88, 81). The Pride was also led by freshman Craig DiFranco (East Longmeadow, Mass.) who tied Levings with a combined score of 169 strokes (84, 85).

Others who competed for the Pride were junior Mike LaJoie (Enfield, Conn.), who finished tied for 171st with a combined score of 175 strokes (88, 87), junior Kyle Hicks (Enfield, Conn.) who finished tied for 182nd with a combined score of 177 strokes (89, 88), and sophomore Aaron Simons (Enfield, Conn.) who finished 203rd with a combined score of 187 stokes (90, 97).

LaJoie also won the bunker contest, besting the competition with his chipping ability.
