Men's Tennis Drops a Match to Salve Regina in Florida

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- March 19, 2008 -- The Springfield College men's tennis team lost a match to Salve Regina by a score of 8-1 earlier this evening in Orlando, Florida.

With the setback, the Pride is now 1-3 overall, and finishes its Florida stretch in countable matches at 1-2. Springfield has one remaining match in Florida that is considered an exhibition and will not count towards its record.

The Pride's lone victory came at No. 3 singles, where senior co-captain Rahul Bala (Enfield, Conn.) won his match by a score of 6-3, 7-5. All of the singles matches were determined in straight sets. The closest SC came to winning in doubles was at No. 1 doubles where junior Andrew Constant (Kingston, N.Y.) and senior co-captain Joe Lisi (Southbridge, Mass.) went down to defeat, 8-6.
