Men's Indoor Track and Field Finished Fourth At Bowdoin

BRUNSWICK, Maine, January 28, 2006 - Springfield College sophomore Nick Decelle (Mechanicville, N.Y.) finished second in both the long jump and triple jump, where he recorded jumps of 21’-11 ¾” and 44’-4”, respectively, as the Pride finished fourth of five teams at Bowdoin College this afternoon (Jan. 28) in Brunswick, Maine.

The final scores of the meet were as follows: MIT (184), Tufts (156), Bowdoin (98), SC (96), and Colby (20).

Junior Alex Kampersal (Natick, Mass.) finished second in the shot put, where he threw a personal best of 54”-2”.

In the 55-meter dash, Pride senior Rashaad Roach (East Haven, Conn.) finished in second place with a time of 6.76 seconds, and was followed closely by fellow senior Chris Keyser (West Newbury, Mass.), who took fourth place with a time of 6.77 seconds. In the 200-meter dash, senior Bill King (Wilmington, Mass.) crossed the line in 23.39 seconds, which was good enough for third place, and Keyser again finished in fourth with a time of 23.46 seconds.

SC freshmen Chris Okerblom (Salisbury, Md.) and Matt Pearson (Barre, Mass.) finished in third and fourth place, respectively, in the pole vault where they each had vaults of 12 feet.

The Pride will next compete on Saturday, February 4, at Tufts University in Medford, Mass.
