Young Leads Women's Cross Country At Amherst Invitational

AMHERST, Mass., Sept. 11, 2004 - Springfield College junior
Meg Young (Hurley, N.Y.) finished third out of 45 runners to lead the Pride to fourth place at the Amherst Invitational, Saturday.
The host Jeffs won the meet with 20 points, followed by Keene State (55), Wheaton (85) and Springfield (87).
Young covered the 5,000-meter course in a time of 19 minutes, 7.90 seconds in her first race this fall.

Jim Pennington enters his 26th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2009-2010. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
