NEW LONDON, Conn. (September 13, 2007) – The Springfield College field hockey team got back on the winning track with a 5-0 win over Connecticut College on Thursday afternoon. The win moves the 15th-ranked Pride to 5-1 on the season while the Camels drop to 0-2..

Five different players found the back of the cage on the afternoon for Springfield. Springfield dominated in the game as it outshot the Camels, 18-2 and scored four goals in the first 21 minutes of the match.

Meghan Bradley (Cumberland, R.I.)opened up the scoring just 4:43 into the match off a feed from Jane Kelleher (Chatham, Mass.). Kelleher then tallied a goal 1:28 later which was assisted by Eileen Jenkins (Gorham, Maine). Jenkins recorded a goal of her own when she finished a feed from Kelleher at the 19:44 mark. Brittany Veazie's (Dexter, Maine) unassisted tally with 21:07 on the clock wrapped up the first half scoring for the Pride. Springfield scored four goals on five shots in the first stanza.

Emily Murray (Boonton, N.J.) concluded the scoring in the game with a goal at the 62:08 mark.

Emma Kaplan (Ridgewood, Conn.) and Julia Kincade (Durham, N.H.) each made a save in 35 minutes of action apiece.

The Pride return to action when travels to take on local-rival Amherst on Thursday, September 19. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
