

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – January 26, 2008 – The Springfield College men's gymnastics team finished third over the weekend at the Navy Open and had several outstanding individual performances to lead the way.
The Navy Midshipmen won the meet with an overall score of 336.9, while William & Mary placed second with a 333.1. The Pride rounded out the collegiate division with 321.4.
Josh Fox was sensational for the Pride as he finished second in the all-around with a 80.55. Fox recorded a third-place finish on floor exercise with a 14.3.
Taking first in the rings was Matt Bolognese with a 14.9 while teammate Andy Kelly placed sixth. Josh Spencer also had a nice showing for the Pride as he took second in the vault with a 15.15 and fifth on the high bar with a 13.45.
Springfield returns to action for its first home meet of the season when it welcomes Air Force this Sunday.
Entering his 28th season as head men's gymnastics coach, Dr. Steve Posner is recognized as one of the most outstanding gymnastics coaches in the East. Posner, who has coached 135 All-Americans and 18 National Champions, led the Pride to another successful season in 2009.
