Men's Track and Field Places 10th at Division III New England Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – February 24, 2008 – The Springfield College men's indoor track and field team finished 10th over the weekend at the Division III New England Championships.

Out of 24 teams that scored in the meet, the Pride placed 10th with 24.5 points.

Steve Headley finished in second place in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.36. Headley finished just behind Salem State's Eddie Bynum, the reigning indoor national champion, who ran the fastest time in the country this year with a 6.27 in the meet. Headley's time qualifed him for the NCAA's as it met "A-Cut" qualifications.

The Pride had a pair of top-five finishers in the weight throw as John Lewis finished fourth after he recorded a toss of 55-09.75, while teammate Dom Uguccioni finished fifth with a mark of 53-05.75.

Springfield's 4x400 relay team finished seventh as the group of Chris Okerblom, Kevin Behlmer, Christopher Quetant, and Tim Rehm crossed the finish line in 3:27.47.
