

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – October 27, 2007-- The Springfield College men's swimming and diving team fell to Southern Connecticut, 164-130, on Saturday afternoon.
Matt Manoni (Brookfield, Conn.) took first place in the 50 freestyle in 21.81 followed by teammate Greg Pearsall (Litchfield, Conn.) with a time of 22.53.
Ryan Mackstutis (Torrington, Conn.) picked up a pair of wins in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.53) and 200 breaststroke (2:17.14).
The Pride also placed first in the 400 freestyle relay as the team of Anthony Bruno (Southbury, Conn.), Andrew Blakesley (West Springfield, Mass.), Pearsall, and Manoni touched in a time of 3:17.86.
Springfield returns to action on Sunday afternoon when it squares off against the Boston College Eagles at 12:00 p.m.
John Taffe enters his 20th season as the head coach of the men's and women's swimming teams at Springfield College. Under Taffe’s leadership, the Pride has returned to its status as one of the best collegiate swimming and diving programs in Division III. Read more.
